Bio

Ali spent her youth in the Sierra Nevada Foothills near Yosemite and made her home in El Dorado County 10 years ago. She can’t count the number of frogs or snakes she caught (all non-venomous, thankfully!) or rustic habitats she built for her animal friends. Ali developed a strong spirit of activism in middle school when she attended her first protest against aerial herbicide spraying (‘Hey hey! No spray! Keep those herbicides away!”) and later in high school as an ambassador in her Students for the Future environmental club. Ali shared this activism with her children when they were young, often taking them on toddler nature walks in Beulah, CO, or hikes in Coloma and Lotus when they were older.

Ali’s professional background ranges from music education to operations management to creative writing. She holds certifications in grant writing, Orff-Schulwerk, and business management. Ali has a BA in Liberal Studies from Antioch University, focusing on creative writing and business management. She is excited to put all her skills together to help grow Splash’s programming, making environmental education accessible to all of Sacramento’s students.
