Christy brings nearly 20 years of experience in environmental education to Sacramento Splash. While working for CalRecycle’s Office of Education and the Environment, she helped develop the K-12 Education and Environment Initiative (EEI) Curriculum and train teachers in its use. In more recent years, she participated in the State’s Science Community of Practice and became CalRecycle’s expert on the Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS). After many years of helping to develop curriculum and train teachers, Christy is now most excited about working directly with students. At Splash, she helps develop and refine field trip stations and curriculum for the Nicolaus Dairy and leads field trips at both the Dairy and the Mather vernal pools. Christy has a Bachelor of Science degree in Animal Physiology from the University of California at Davis.
