Bio

Kat really connected with nature while growing up in El Dorado County, exploring the foothills and the Cosumnes river watershed. She still remembers the first time she saw a California Newt! This love of nature grew into a passion to learn more about the environmental sciences. Kat earned an Environmental Science and ethics degree at Cal Poly Humboldt and has worked and volunteered for several science and conservation programs over the years, including gardening and exploring nature with her own children’s schools and girl scout troops. Kat loves sharing her enthusiasm for environmental sciences with students both in the field and in the classroom.
