A Message from Mackenzie Wieser, CEO of Sacramento Splash

Dear Splash Community,

I want to extend my heartfelt thanks to all of you—our supporters, staff, board members, and donors—for your continued dedication to our mission of helping children understand and value our natural world.

For over 25 years, Sacramento Splash has connected over 210,000 students to nature through hands-on, outdoor learning experiences. Studies show that children who spend time in nature are healthier, more resilient, and better equipped to handle challenges.A North American Association for Environmental Education report highlights that “environmental education improves academic performance, enhances critical thinking, and fosters life-building skills like confidence, leadership, and autonomy.” We see these benefits firsthand in the lasting impact of our programs.

We believe that every child should experience nature throughout their TK-12 education. To achieve this, Splash is partnering with statewide initiatives like CalSOL and other environmental education nonprofits to expand access to these transformative experiences.

Thank you for supporting us in this important work. Together, we are raising a generation ready to care for our natural world.

With gratitude,

Mackenzie Wieser
