On Friday, August 22, you’re invited to do just that at the Backyard Bash for Splash, a feel-good evening filled with laughter, live music, and local flavor, all in support of environmental education for Sacramento’s youth.
“This isn’t your typical gala,” says Gina Fleming, Director of Development at Sacramento Splash. “It’s casual. It’s joyful. It’s a gathering of people who care deeply about our environment and our kids and who know how to have a good time while doing good.“
Held in the serene backyard of Sheldon Inn/Adkin’s Family Vineyard, the Bash is part celebration, part call to action. Think: live music by the incredible Wealth of Nations, mouthwatering local fare, and one-of-a-kind auction items that spotlight Sacramento’s natural beauty and vibrant community.
You’ll also hear from an inspiring student speaker whose life was transformed by Splash’s hands-on science education and watch as Supervisor Pat Hume steps in as our energetic guest auctioneer. With the support of generous sponsors like Insperity, Republic Services, and Golden 1 Credit Union, it’s shaping up to be a night to remember.
And while we’ll be dancing, dining, and bidding, we’ll also be making a difference. Proceeds from the Bash fuel programs like Project AWE, which connects students to agriculture, water, and energy through unforgettable field trips and NGSS-aligned science lessons. Last year alone, Splash reached over 8,000 students, and your support helps sustain that momentum.
“We want people to walk away feeling connected to each other, to nature, and to this mission,” Fleming adds. “It’s about celebrating what we’ve achieved and rallying for what’s next.“
