Bio

David was born and raised locally in Orangevale, California. He was raised on his family’s small ranch that had horses and cows and he was gifted with the enjoyment of a country lifestyle, growing up in the same house for almost 18 years.  Over the years, David developed a strong connection with nature. He spent childhood years fishing with his neighbor friends at nearby Linda creek or riding horses with his sisters. He was also active in 4-H for many years, and later joined his high school FFA, becoming President his senior year.

David went on to graduate from UC Davis with a BS in Animal Science. At the time of his graduation, he was thinking about becoming a large animal veterinarian; however, life took him in another direction, where he eventually became the founder/owner of a very successful biotechnology company located in Davis. David sold his business in 2022, but he is still active in the biotechnology field. He started another company in 2024 that is focused on drug delivery using a novel approach to encapsulating various drugs for cancer and gene therapy. David also spends his time working with certain charities that help disadvantaged kids that could use some help along the way.

Having recently relocated from Davis to Carmichael, David now spends much of his time enjoying the American River bike trail or kayaking the American River. His vision statement is best summarized as advocating for the land that doesn’t have a voice. He wants to be an advocate for sustainability and protecting open space for future generations.

David would like to continue to work with Splash, to help ensure that public policy makers realize the resources they are losing when they decide to annex land that was once zoned for agriculture or wildlife habitat.  He would love to continue to see young people be given the chance to enjoy and connect with the outdoors and open spaces like he was able to do as a child.
