Wildlife Wednesday-Pleasant Pheasant

Ring-necked Pheasants, Phasianus colchicus, are in an order of birds called the Galliformes, which includes chicken-like birds, such as Wild Turkey (the bird not the whiskey), various species of grouse, quail, and ptarmigan.

Ring-necked Pheasants aren’t native to North America. They were introduced from China in the mid-1800s as a popular game bird.
