Today is the day that you can significantly impact our children’s futures through the power of nature education. The call to action is urgent as we approach another year. It’s time to unite for the Big Day of Giving and propel these transformative programs to new heights. Early giving has begun, and your donation can make a difference TODAY!
Our mission is driven forward by our two latest promising initiatives: the Youth Environmental Leadership Camp (YELC) and Project AWE (focusing on agriculture, water, energy, and the environment). These programs, meticulously designed to cultivate young minds and foster a profound connection with the natural world, are on the verge of something monumental. However, they need sustained funding—the lifeblood to fuel their growth and ensure their lasting impact. Your support is crucial in this endeavor. For another year, we have secured funding for our bread and butter programs, Investigating Vernal Pools and Splash in the Class, but we need your help with our newest programs!
Envision a summer filled with the joyous laughter of 60 YELC participants embarking on a transformative journey of discovery across four enriching weeks. Imagine 100 Project AWE field trip days, hosting 200+ classes and touching the lives of approximately 7,000 students. Since its inception in 1999, Splash has expanded its impact from approximately 3,500 students annually to almost 18,000. However, this is only the beginning. These programs are not just about education. They are about shaping our planet’s future by nurturing our youth’s minds. Your support can help us continue to create these life-changing experiences for more students.
With your generous support, we can accelerate the expansion of these initiatives, opening doors to a world of boundless opportunities for children. Together, we’ll lay the groundwork for future collaborations with partner organizations, amplifying our capacity to connect even more students with the wonders of outdoor education. Your support is not just an investment in the present but in the future of our planet as we inspire the next generation of environmental leaders. Your contribution matters, and we deeply appreciate your commitment to our cause.
One such partnership, blossoming out at the Historic Nicolaus Dairy, is a testament to the magic that unfolds when communities unite in pursuit of a shared vision. The collaboration between the Sacramento Area Sewer District and Sacramento Splash at the Historic Nicolaus Dairy is not just about cultivating honey or tending to rows of crops but sowing the seeds of curiosity and stewardship in young hearts. From tasting honey harvested by the bees onsite to nurturing wildflowers and crops for pollinators, students are immersed in a living, breathing classroom where lessons transcend textbooks. This is the power of outdoor education, and with your support, we can bring this transformative experience to more students. Check out this video to see the impact this program is making!
CEO Mackenzie Wieser said, “Together, we raise our voices, ensuring policies and funding flow toward preserving our planet and enriching young minds through programs that pull kids out into nature to understand its true healing.”
In the realm of advocacy, our resolve remains steadfast. Mackenzie, our fearless leader, is poised at the helm of CAELI’s Community Based Partnership Innovation Hub, where she champions the cause of environmental education nonprofits across the state. Working with 16 other Community-Based Partners (CPBs), we are working to ensure funding reaches the organizations teaching hands-on Science to students every day!
Your support isn’t merely a donation—it’s an investment in the future stewards of our planet. It’s a pledge to nurture curiosity, instill empathy, and cultivate a generation of changemakers who safeguard our natural heritage for future generations. We are deeply grateful for your commitment to our cause. So, as the sun rises on the horizon of possibility, we invite you to join us on this extraordinary journey. Together, let’s harness nature’s transformative power and unlock every child’s curiosity for wild spaces.
