Giving Tuesday: Help us raise $5,000 in a Day to Ensure 135 students get access to a field trip!

The holiday season is just around the corner, and what better way to kick it off than by giving back to the community? This Giving Tuesday, December 3rd, we invite you to support Splash—a local nonprofit dedicated to environmental education and conservation. Your generosity will help us continue to inspire, educate, and foster a love for nature in our community, especially for the youth who need it most.

Why Sacramento Splash Needs Your Help

Every year, Sacramento Splash provides thousands of students from Title 1 schools with the rare opportunity to engage in hands-on science lessons in nature. Our Project AWE Program, hosted in Elk Grove at the Historic Nicolaus Dairy, hosts 100 field trip days annually, guiding over 7,000 students through exciting outdoor learning experiences. These trips are more than just field trips—they’re an introduction to science, nature, and conservation that often shape a child’s future and inspire their love for the outdoors.

However, we can’t do it alone. Due to high demand, our programs are entirely booked through May 2025, with over 79 classrooms on the waiting list. This growing demand is a testament to the value of these experiences for our community. But to keep up, we need your support.

The Goal: $5,000 in One Day, helping us kick off our End of Year Campaign!

This Giving Tuesday, we aim to raise $5,000 in one day to help fill our funding gap for these high-demand programs. Your donation will directly sponsor 135 students (5 classes) to attend a field trip at the Historic Nicolaus Dairy, ensuring more children can experience these life-changing outdoor lessons. Every dollar counts, and no contribution is too small to make an impact.

How You Can Help

1. Donate Today

Make a one-time donation on Giving Tuesday to help us reach our $5,000 goal. Your donation will help fund the field trips that allow students to experience the natural world firsthand. These programs are life-changing, and your contribution ensures we can continue offering them at little to no cost for parents.

2. Become a Monthly Donor

Those who want to make a lasting impact should consider becoming a monthly donor. Monthly donations provide us with the steady support we need to plan for the future and sustain our vision for future generations. Whether you donate $5, $10, or more each month, your contribution ensures our programs can grow and reach even more students each year.

3. Spread the Word

If you can’t donate right now, help us spread the Word! Share our mission on social media, encourage your friends and family to donate, and help raise awareness of environmental education’s importance in our community.

Why Your Donation Matters

At Sacramento Splash, every child deserves the opportunity to connect with nature and experience the wonders of the natural world. Our programs are designed to serve children who only rarely have access to these learning opportunities, particularly those from Title 1 schools. Children whose parents are often working two jobs and don’t have time to take them camping or on nature hikes on the weekends, children whose parents frequently lack the knowledge or comfort in the outdoors!  Your donations help keep our programs accessible and free for schools to participate in, ensuring no child is left behind in outdoor education.

By donating, you’re not just helping to fund a field trip—you’re giving a child a chance to engage with science in a way that textbooks can’t replicate. (IRL)-In Real Life, experiences that cannot be taught through a video in the classroom or through a book! These hands-on experiences are pivotal in shaping young minds, fostering a love for the environment, and inspiring the next generation of environmental stewards.

Let’s Make This Giving Tuesday a Success! Give what makes you SMILE! 🙂
