There’s something special about watching a child’s face light up when they touch a snake for the first time or peek into a microscope to see pond life up close. At Sacramento Splash, these “wow” moments aren’t just for the classroom—they happen across parks, fairgrounds, nature centers, and even choir events, thanks to our dedicated team’s efforts at weekend tabling events!
Over the past few months, Splash has been out and about, bringing our signature brand of hands-on, curiosity-fueled science education to community favorites like Duck Days, Kids Day, Big Truck Day, SnakeFest, Walk on the Wild Side, and even RSVP Choir Events. Whether it’s setting up interactive activities, sharing the mission of Splash, or answering questions about how to get involved, our staff and Board volunteers bring the heart of our work directly to the people.

But here’s a little behind-the-scenes insight: did you know Splash is invited to participate in monthly 2 to 3 community events? As much as we’d love to say “yes” to every invitation, we must be mindful of our budget, like many nonprofits. Staff who attend these weekend events are paid for their time, and most of these outreach opportunities don’t come with funding. That means we have to choose carefully where we show up.
Your support helps make our presence possible.
Thanks to the generosity shown during the Big Day of Giving, we can say “yes” more often—to the events that matter most, the families who benefit, and the neighborhoods eager to connect with nature through Splash. Every dollar donated helps us extend our reach and create more magical, eye-opening moments—on and off the trails.
So next time you spot a Splash booth at a community event, know that YOU helped make it happen. Your support turns weekends into wild, fantastic, nature-filled learning opportunities.
Thank you for standing with Splash!
