The Splash team has been busy all summer getting the Historic Nicolaus Dairy ready to welcome students for the fall Project AWE field trip season, running from August 18 through November 20. We’re thrilled to be hosting over 100 classes this fall for a hands-on day of learning in nature, no screens required!
Second and third graders will dive into the world of pollination, composting, seeds, and bees. While fourth and fifth graders will explore dairy farming history, hydroponics, gardening, and our farm workshop. Each activity is designed to spark curiosity and engage students in learning by doing.
It hasn’t just been the staff working hard; our garden has been thriving, too! Students will have the chance to plant, harvest, and taste fresh vegetables and fruit right in the garden. And thanks to our two bustling beehives, which produced over 30 pounds of honey this summer, students will get to taste fresh honey after learning about the life cycle and the importance of bees.
This year, we’ve made it easier than ever for teachers to book their trips. Field trip sign-ups are now on Calendly, offering a real-time calendar and a smooth, hassle-free process. Project AWE spring signups are now open! Don’t miss your chance—reserve your spot here.
