We are honored to share that Sacramento Splash has been named the 2025 Nonprofit of the Year by the Elk Grove Chamber of Commerce. This recognition is deeply meaningful to our organization and affirms the collective impact of our educators, partners, staff, volunteers, and supporters who make our work possible.
This honor reflects our strong, ongoing partnership with the Sacramento Area Sewer District, whose funding and support have helped us bring many students from the Elk Grove Unified School District to the historic Nicholas Dairy through Project AWE. Over the past four seasons, Project AWE has welcomed more than 25,000 students, providing hands-on environmental education experiences that foster curiosity, stewardship, and leadership.
At Sacramento Splash, our mission is to help children connect with and care for the natural world. We believe that early, meaningful exposure to environmental education helps cultivate a generation of informed, engaged, and environmentally conscious individuals who will protect our planet for years to come.
This recognition not only celebrates our work but also strengthens our commitment to serving students, educators, and communities with excellence and integrity. As we look ahead, we remain focused on expanding access, deepening our impact, and ensuring our programs continue to meet the needs of the communities we serve.
“It is a true honor to be named the 2025 Nonprofit of the Year by the Elk Grove Chamber of Commerce,” said Mackenzie Wieser, CEO of Sacramento Splash. “I want to sincerely thank our Board of Directors, funding partners, staff, educators, and volunteers, for their dedication and belief in our mission. This recognition belongs to everyone who has contributed to the success and growth of Sacramento Splash.”
Along with nearly the entire Splash board, the award was accepted on January 16, 2026, at the Elk Grove Chamber Recognition Gala and Board Installation Dinner at District 56, and we wanted to celebrate this milestone with our community.
Thank you for being part of the Sacramento Splash journey. Your continued support allows us to inspire learning, connection, and environmental stewardship across generations.
