Bio

Alex has a Master’s Degree in Regional Planning from the University of Berkeley and worked for 20 years in conservation planning and habitat mapping throughout the Western states, primarily with US Fish and Wildlife Service. She then studied horticulture and after working with a local farm, started a small plant nursery; but her heart has always been with outdoor education. Alex is so excited to be working with students and sharing her love of plants! At Splash, she helps develop and refine field trip stations and curriculum for the Nicolaus Dairy and leads field trips at both the Dairy and the Mather vernal pools.  She also maintains the garden beds and row crops at the Dairy.
