Alexis grew up in the Sacramento area and spent her childhood camping with her family and attending outdoor summer camps. As she got older, she returned to camp as a counselor-in-training, where she discovered how much she loved working with kids and learning in an outdoor setting. She went on to study Environmental Science at Sacramento State, where she gained experience studying turtle populations and creating hands-on activities for children at public outreach events.
Alexis found Sacramento Splash and quickly fell in love with environmental education. She especially enjoys helping students explore the outdoors, ask questions, and make their own discoveries. She brings a sense of curiosity and childlike wonder to her work and loves getting to share that enthusiasm with young learners.
Outside of Splash, Alexis enjoys making bracelets and other beaded crafts, spending time with her two cats, and exploring new places around the Sacramento area.
